MailDroid is your IMAP Idle and POP3 email replacement for the default client!

MailDroid is an ad-supported Webdav/POP3/IMAP Idle Push mail client written from the ground up and and not based on the stock Android mail client.

*FAQ*
1. Why is the message slow to open? You need to set preload options found in global preferences.

2. Why is Exchange not working? I support 2003,2007, and 2010. However, each one can be set up differently by your administrator. The usual issue is username which can be domain\username, username, or username@domain.com

3. I search, but see no results? You need to set up preloading in order to see search results.

4. How can I have different notifications for sound and LED color? You can set this under the rules section in global preferences.

5. Why can't I see my folders in Hotmail? Hotmail in MailDroid runs under POP3 (Microsoft charges a license for ActiveSync) and POP3 does not support folders from the server. IMAP does support this.

6. Can you change the icon? If you have a good idea, email me and we can talk about it.

7. Will there be a paid version? Yes, a version exists on the market.

Great replacement for stock

I love this app. It provides a lot more functionality and easy to use once set up. One thing to add is ability to move to next message without having to go back to home screen. I would like to swipe left or right to move back or ahead 1 message

Very good app!!

Many features! Best email client app in terms of features but does have many bugs. Issues with exchange security control and sometimes emails end up being completely blank with absolutely no data.

Has potential but bugs too

Nice interface and love that it supports Exchange Web Services. However, recently I've found that it is confusing headers and bodies on messages so that when the message is opened, it shows an old email not even related or from the same originator. The app has become almost unusable at this point.

Not working when exchange needs to control security

App looks promising but does not work when exchange needs to control security settings of mobile. Needed mail app for corporate mail so for me not use (exchange 2010)

Nice IMAP client

I was using K9 but their IMAP every once in a while would go haywire. Tried this as a replacement and it seems very nice and less buggy. Has everything I need and the ads aren't obtrusive.

No push mail for exchange :-( and no global directory support for getting email/contacts.. Pls get these incorporated soon..

Used to be the best email app

I want to confirm that with the latest update it sets wake lock for your phone even when your phone is in airplane mode with everything shut off. I just tested last night and my phone was awake all night because of MailDroid wake lock. This needs to be fixed asap or I will have to find alternative. There is no reason to kill the battery for no reason. I'm disappointed right now. I will have to revert back to the older version for now.
