* This is a companion application to Earthquake Alert! *

** NOTE: this is *not* a real time system. Data comes from USGS and they post earthquakes online many minutes after the event so there will be delays of 5-20 minutes usually.

* Please email me for issues. I cannot respond to comments or feedback on the app itself.

Try creating a custom location filter vs. the "near me" filter - that one relies on your phone's location and isn't always up to date when the quake comes in.

well worth it for the peace of mind

When there was a 7.2 earthqauke in the Queen Charlotte Islands, I found out 45 minutes later on FB, no local news on radio or tv. I got this app and now I know within about 5 minutes of the quake. It gives me maps, latest news, and news in general. This app gives me details and leads me to url's where I can find out more information. I sleep better at night knowing I have this app... I kid you not.

Alert delays are nowhere near realtime.

Nice interface, but just like the free version, it takes a minimum of 20 minutes to get an earthquake alert. Not terribly happy. C2DM push server obviously needs more resources or better threading. @staticfish

I like the customizing options, easy to change, fast. also like news feature - info right from app is very useful. well worth small cost to get push add-on, too!

Update way too slow to be able to alert you!

Paid version does not deliver faster alert! Way too slow to be a reliable tool. Wish developer update it very soon.

Not if you were waiting on THIS app to alert you. I discovered it surfing GOOGLE NEWS. Checked my filters...yep, it should have told me. Edit: Just got an alert on a 6.4 that happen 27 minutes ago! Unacceptable.

Laughable

I live in LA and have the alerter notify me whenever there is a quake that's 2.0 or greater. It has notified me once of a quake. There have been many quakes that met the filter settings for a notification and it never alerts me. The app worked at one time but has since been useless. Pull this app off the market, it's a ripoff at this point.
