Why even have "News"?

App is great for checking movie times and watching trailers, but honestly - why even have a "News" tab if you can't read half of the stories or see 3/4 of the pictures. Really stupid and frustrating.

Not very helpful

Search an area, get a list of movies, not a list of theaters. How far away is that movie? *clickclickclick* Takes forever. Search for a movie. Where is it playing? Moviefone shrugs. It can't tell you. Way too many clicks to get at barely-useful information.

There are better alternatives.

I shy away from all things AOL for one reason: they're kinda bad at making computer programs these days...let me explain. In a free app, I don't mind an ad here and there. The first time I open this app, the first screen I see is an ad. Then, there's a popup right after, and when I eventually get to the main page, top and center is another advertisement. Come on! Get with the program guys. With the competition being as stiff as it is, you have to cut back on that. Flixster's also free, and also better.

Missing Times

Was really good. Lately it has been missing times or in some cases not listing all nearby theaters.

Second Rate

Not nearly as fast or informative as the Fandango app. Trying to look at the next week's theater schedule (to see if a movie will still be playing) too often turned up a blank page. Takes way too many clicks to get from the opening screen to a list of movie times (only takes 3 in Fandango). Might be good if don't really follow movies, and need the synopsis to decide what to see. I just need to see a particular film's start times, and to check the next weeks schedule, and this does it poorly.

I am a movie buff, and this is a fantastic app, I absolutely love it! What would really be cool, would be a database that included all movies, ever made, that was searchable, by title, genre, director, and actors. That would be an EXTREMELY useful app.
