Play with Physics in The Elements Sand Game for Android
Everyone knows about physics-flingers, but we’re going to talk about another kind of physics game today. The Elements: Sand Game from IDKJava is a true physics-based game that cuts out all the fluff and just gives you cool elements to play with in a sandbox environment.
The Elements Sand Game is a “sandbox” game where you’ll get to use elements in an open environment to see how they’ll react with each other. Selecting and using an element is as easy as hitting a palette button, selecting an element and drawing it out with your finger. All the basics are there like Sand, Ice, Fire, and Stone, but you’ll also get access to fun things like C4, Fuse, Generators, and Gunpowder. Looking for something different? How about Mosquitoes, Termites, Insect Killer, and Magma.
You can create your own elements in addition to the ones provided with the Element Editor which lets you create and modify elements down to their color, temperature, and inertia. If you setup an element you like you can save it for later use; the same goes for any cool scenes you create as you can save those for later and show them off to your friends. There are also several different options you can adjust including using your accelerometer to add some motion to the sandy little particles.
The graphics and interface of The Elements Sand Game might look simple, but don’t let that fool you as you can piece together almost anything you can think of. The interface is bare bones, but very easy to use so anything can pick up a little sand or stone and start fooling around. As I’m the destructive sort I spent most of my time blowing things up, but there’s really no limit to what you can do if you’ve got a good imagination. There are a few things that could use a little work, but overall The Elements Sand Game is a great little physics game that’s a lot of fun to play around with for a few minutes or several hours. You can pick up IDKJava’s The Elements for free on Google Play.
