The Top 10 New Android Games of the Week – October 21, 2012
This week’s list of The Top 10 New Android Games of the Week has a little something for everyone. Whether you’re in the mood to play an Airport security screener, run a soccer club or a diner in Hawaii, we’ve got you covered.
The folks that brought us Anomaly Warzone Earth HD dropped another great game this week with Funky Smugglers. The games are about as different as you can get as Funky Smugglers is all about removing dangerous objects from folks as they scoot through a security scanner at the airport. The game is a blast to play and the full version is well worth the $0.99 price tag.
Like Word Games? If so you’re bound to enjoy W.E.L.D.E.R. from Ayopa Games. W.E.L.D.E.R. let’s you ‘weld’ together words from the mixed up playing board and makes things interesting by throwing in moves like special reverse, jump swaps, and multipliers. It’s one of the better word games we’ve played this year and you can get it for $2.99.
If you’re a soccer fan there’s no doubt that Real Soccer 2013 is “the” soccer game to get. Gameloft’s Soccer Sim lets you build your team and take them to the top as you try to develop your club into the top football team around. It has all the stars that’s to a FIFPro license, and it’s a great looking game to boot. I actually loathe soccer (sorry world) so I haven’t tried this one, but you can get it for free on Google Play.
We finally got to see a Marvel game this week with Mobage’s War of Heroes, and while it’s not the Avengers Initiative it’s still a cool game. You’ll get to put together a deck full of Marvel’s finest as you battle it out against Hydra and people around the world. If you dig comic book games and like to duel with cards you’ll definitely want to give this one a go.
The Knights of Pen and Paper is a turn-based RPG that harkens back to the old days of playing D&D with a pen and paper. You get retro pixel art, turn-based battles, and 12 different classes to go along with 17 different characters. No free version of this one is available, but you can get the full version for $1.99.
Everyone’s played or watched Volleyball at some point and time, but I bet you never played it with a bomb… Volley Bomb Extreme Volleyball put that funky twist into the game as you’ll get to play with a bomb instead of a ball. Oh yea… you also get to play with robots! It’s a cool little time killer and it’s free to download on Google Play.
If you’ve ever dreamed of being in a pit crew Thunder Gun Pit Crew Titan might be just the thing for you. The game puts you in the pit and in control of an 8-man team where you’ll get to refill the car and spin lug nuts as you shoot for the best time. It looks like a fun game to pick up if you’re into racing and you can get it for free.
We visited Garfield’s Diner when it was first released, and now it looks like the Pasta loving feline is back in Garfield’s Diner Hawaii. The newest version of the game lets you do all the things you loved from the first game, but you’ll do them in a different setting as Irma has taken the gang to Hawaii. It’s just as good as the first game, and you can get it for free on Google Play.
Big Blue Bubble released a monstrous new game this week with My Singing Monsters. This one’s a town building/monster collecting game that’s packed cull of monsters that like to sing. Looks like a good one for the kids and best of all it’s free!
10. Restaurant Star
Gamevil dropped a new game this week by the name of Restaurant Star which lets you run your own restaurant where you’ll cook cuisine and serve it up with style. There are plenty of courses, upgrades, and missions to keep you busy for a while and you can pick it up for free.
