The Top 10 New Android Games of the Week – October 14, 2012

It’s Sunday which means NFL Action on the tube, and another list of our Top 10 New Android Games of the Week. This weeks edition lets you duel in a dome of death, bake halloween cookies, shoot some buckets, and you’ll even get to defend some seedy individuals in court thanks to a dastardly attorney. We got some excellent games this week, and tried to include a little something for everyone in the list. If you’re ready to get your game on sit back, relax, and enjoy our picks for the Top 10 New Android Games of the Week…

1. Devil’s Attorney

If you’ve ever wanted to see what life is like as a shady 80s lawyer Devil’s Attorney is just the thing for you. This turn-based strategy game lets you take on crazy court cases in three different settings as you try to earn as much money as possible to live your lifestyle of vanity and greed. It’s a very cool game, and you can get it for only $2.99 on Google Play.

2. Death Dome

Death Dome is the newest title from Glu Mobile, and it’s one of their best this year. It’s a Mad Max “Thunderdome” kind of game where you play a hero trapped in a dome where fighting to the death is the only way out. The graphics are slick and there are more than enough lopped off heads and arms to make even the most gruesome of gamers happy. Death Dome is free to download on Google Play.

3. Justice League Earth’s Final Defense

We still haven’t seen hide nor hair of the Avengers Initiative (shame on you Marvel), but we did get another super powered title this week with Justice League: EFD for Android. This DC game lets you beat the baddies to a pulp as one of 6 superheroes and it’s a pretty damn good looking game as well. I did have some trouble running the game on one of my two compatible devices, but it does run well on my Galaxy S3. If you’re ready to don the cape or use the lasso of truth you can pick up Justice League: Earth’s Final Defense for $0.99.

4. Rigonauts

Rigonauts is an interesting game where you’ll control a team of Hobs and send them into battle in some funky contraptions. You get to build your own Rigo/Vessel and use it to take the enemies out by trying to hit their weak points before they can take you out. It’s a hard game to describe, but it’s truly a blast to play. As of now it’s only available for people with a Snapdragon device that are on Verizon, but expect it to go wide in another week or two. It’s $2.99 but it’s money well spent if you can run the game.

5. Fibble Flick ‘n’ Roll

Fibble Flick ‘n’ Roll is a quirky physics game involving an alien named Fibble and his little alien friends. I haven’t got to play this one yet, but you can read a bit more about it here if you’re interested. Looks like a solid game and you can get if for only a buck on the Amazon App Store.

6. Harlem Globetrotters Trick Shots

The Harlem Globetrotters released their official game this week and as you might imagine it involves you attempting some wacky trick shots. You’ll get to try and sink shots across 30 different levels including shots from an airplane, and even the moon. It’s a great game for any fan of the Globetrotters and best of all it’s free!

7. The Tribez

Game Insight International released a new game this week… guess what genre? If you guessed city building you’d be right as that’s basically what they put out and Tribez is the newest building game you can add to your collection. I became burned out on these cookie-cutter building games a long while back, but do realize that a lot of folks LOVE them so here ya’ go. If you’re ready to build a city for a primitive tribe you can pick up The Tribez for free on Google Play.

8. Bakery Story Halloween

Teamlava Games is well known for the “Story” line of games and if you enjoy them you’re in for a treat as they’ve just released Bakery Story: Halloween edition. If you played the original Bakery Story you already know what this game is about and you’ll get to bake cool Halloween themed things like Cauldron Cupcakes, Spider Brownies, and Witch Hat Cookies among other things. If baking is your thing you’ll want to give this one a go and you can get it for free on Google Play.

9. Chaos Rings

Chaos Rings is a new Final Fantasy game from Square Enix, and it’s the second game to grace our week the list that falls into the “games I’ve yet to play” category. The game is an RPG that consists of four different scenarios revolving around a tournament in the Ark Arena. I do like Final Fantasy, but don’t plan on picking this one up personally as it’s another massive game (my s3 is at capacity), and it’s a little pricey as well. If you want to give it a go you can pick up Chaos Rings for $12.99 on Google Play.

10. GlowJumper

There are endless runner games, and there are endless jumping game which is where GlowJumper from Tritium Inc. comes into play. GlowJumper is a jumping game that lets you help Nuno escape his dying planet through jumping and while it does have an endless mode it also has a challenge mode with 30 cool stages and 20 challenge levels. It’s a nice addition to the jumping genre and you can pick it up for free on Google Play.
