Mind Candy and GREE to bring two Moshi Monster games to Android
Previously, virtual card games had only really seen success in Japan. However we’ve recently learned that DeNa have signed a deal with Hasbro to bring Transformer themed games to Android, the first being ‘Transformers Battle’ which is a virtual card game. We also learned yesterday that DeNA would also be releasing another virtual card game on Android but, featuring the Avenger characters (and Spider-Man) in ‘Marvel: War of Heroes’.
Today comes news that GREE, the publishers behind titles such as Modern War and Crime City have teamed up with Mind Candy to release two Moshi Monster games on mobile platforms, including Android. The first of the two games entitled ‘Moshi Monsters: Lost Islands’ is a card collection game. In the game you collect Moshi characters cards as well as Moshling cards. The game allows you to build your ‘best deck’ depending on what situation the game provides you with. It is also possible to combine the cards you have collected. As well as collecting the various cards available, there are various card based puzzle mini games and you are able to explore mysterious new islands and undiscovered regions.
The second game ‘Moshi Monsters Village’ is a city builder simulator much like Sim City. The game allows you to build and design your own town in Moshi Monster’s Pawberry Fields along with the help of Dewy from the DIY store. Like ‘Moshi Monsters: Lost Islands’ there are also mini games within Moshi Monster Village. The mini games guide you on a quest to save Moshlings that have been captured by the evil Dr. Strangeglove. There isn’t a specific release date for either game but, both games are expected to be launched in Autumn 2012. Likewise pricing information is currently unknown.
