SNK Playmore drops Blazing Star for Android onto Google Play
Last week the folks at SNK Playmore dropped a bomb on me with their release of an awesome port of Metal Slug 3. Well, they’re back again with another retro release this week, and this time around it’s the NeoGeo classic Blazing Star.
Blazing Star is a space-based shooter that has spaceships, modes, and action. There are six different ships in the game with different strengths and weaknesses which means you can pick a ship to suit your playing style. The game also has a few modes of play with the classic Arcade mode, and Mission mode which lets you practice any level you choose so you can perfect your game or improve your score on tough levels. Blazing Star also has co-op gameplay via Bluetooth so you can battle your foes with your friends and blast away the enemies.
I’ll admit I’m not familiar with this one at all; I did own a Neogeo back in the day but this was a game I never got around to playing or checking out. I haven’t played the Android version either, but if it’s anything like the port of Metal Slug 3 it will be a rock solid game. Sorry there’s not much to say about this one, but it does look like a good one if you dig space shooters. If you’re a fan of the original or just want to have a bit of retro fun you can check out Blazing Star for $2.99 on Google Play.
